Get creative and be inspired by nature`s colours!

There are many vibrant colours to find in nature and, while it may seem surprising, the British hedgerow has an abundance. These colours can be used to transform materials and fabrics, a technique that has been used throughout history to create designs and garments. This course will teach you not only teach you the processes of natural dyeing but also how to identify and source the necessary ingredients from the hedgerow.

The day will begin at 10am with a walk around our natural landscape and meadow, learning about the plants that can be used for dyeing, how to harvest them from the hedgerow, and an explanation of the dyeing process. Three dyes will be used for the course, each demonstrated with basic dyeing techniques for facbric decoration, tying, binding, and more. Participants choose the techniques they wish to work with before undertaking the dyeing process themselves.
