Join Vix Hill-Ryder at Wacker Quay, along the Tamar estuary, as she showcases the amazing wild foods to be found in this Cornish Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Wacker Quay is particularly interesting for foragers as it brings together two exciting and abundant wild food environments. This walk will guide you through both the estuary and the woodland, helping you to familiarise yourself with wild foods that favour the water and those ingredients that favour the company of trees.
Springtime is a particuarly wonderful time to forage as you'll not only be able to find nutritious wild foods to add to your dinner table but you will also be able to appreciate the colours and aromas that come with plants revelling in the year's changing season. At the end of the walk, Vix will be hosting a cooking and tasting session too, using the wild food ingredients foraged
This course begins at 10.30 and concludes at 1.30pm. Please do make a note of any dietary requirements you might have when booking as we like to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the recipes we taste at the end of the session. Adult foraging walk tickets are £25 and we welcome children to attend for free. Please, however, do let us know if any children will be in attendance, so that we can keep track of numbers! Unfortuantely, we find that our walks are unsuitable for dogs and ask that they are not brought along with you. Logistics for the foraging course will be sent via email after the booking is made.
