Learn to Craft with Wood
Sheviock, SE Cornwall

Using hand-carving techniques and developing whittling skills, our expert craftsman, Robbie, teaches you how to create spoons of various designs with only timber and blades.

This course will guide you through knife safety, how to understand and work with green wood, and, ultimately, how to transform raw material into a thing of beauty and practicality. We supply you with all the tools you need to learn and whittle and carve on the day, guiding you to create a brilliant spoon. Then, once you've finished, you'll be able to take your new skills and spoon with you to begin whittling anywhere!

Children are welcome to join this course at a reduced price. If you'd like to bring a little one along with you, please contact our team when booking.

This course takes place at our Horsepool Apiary between 10am and 3pm. All essential equipment will be supplied and we simply advise that you dress appropriately for the weather. Logistics for the event, including meeting points and parking information, will be emailed soon after your booking is made.

Disclaimer: If a course is cancelled by the Family Foraging Kitchen, such as in the event of unsuitable weather conditions, alternative dates will be made available, as well as the option of a full refund. Customers are also welcome to swap their booking for another course (subject to availability) or request a refund until seven days before the course takes place. Following this time, we will be unable to offer a refund (except in certain cases) as it is unlikely we will be able to fill the course.
