We believe that children should be welcomed into nature, with opportunities to learn about the value and wonder of local environments. What's more, the experience of building this relationship should be engaging and fun. This is why we continue to host our Wild School classes, welcoming children outside of mainstream education to explore the Rame Peninsula, from its coastal shores to its stunning hedgerows. Now, in 2024, our Wild School sessions are back and reinvented, with our new tutor, forager and wild school teacher, Helen Parker!
This Wild School class is one of many held throughout the year, with each one guiding children through different landscapes, focusing on a variety of traditional skills, from foraging to insect identification. Classes take place on a Friday between 10.00 and 12.30, welcoming up to twenty children to attend. Specific logistics for the class will be shared shortly after booking and, again, once again nearer to the course date.
Parents are welcome to join the session with their children to supervise, though we do ask that only a single adult joins their child/ren as classes can become overwhelming for tutor and children alike. We also endeavour to ensure that a wide range of children are welcome to join us, accommodating a variety of SEN and dietary requirements. If you have any concerns about attendance or have any questions, please reach out to our team.
