Join Vix Hill-Ryder at Wacker Quay, along the Tamar estuary, as she showcases the amazing wild foods to be found in this Cornish Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) for a Mother's Day special. Finding and gathering seasonal delights, you will learn how to identify, collect, and prepare a number of delicious ingredients, before enjoying cooking and tasting session, followed by a celebratory cocktail, at the end of the walk!
Wacker Quay is particularly interesting for foragers as it brings together two exciting and abundant wild food environments. This walk will guide you through both the estuary and the woodland, helping you to familiarise yourself with wild foods that favour the water and those ingredients that favour the company of trees.
This course begins at 10.30 and concludes at 1.30pm. Please do make a note of any dietary requirements you might have when booking as we like to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the recipes we taste at the end of the session. Adult foraging walk tickets are £30 and we welcome children to attend for free. Please, however, do let us know if any children will be in attendance, so that we can keep track of numbers! Unfortuantely, we find that our walks are unsuitable for dogs and ask that they are not brought along with you. Logistics for the foraging course will be sent via email after the booking is made.
