The Edible Seaweeds of Coastal Cornwall
Freathy, Whitsand Bay

Out of stock

Take a 3-hour guided walk with expert forager, Vix Hill-Ryder, across the stunning shoreline of Freathy, Whitsand Bay. Learn the all about the Cornish coast's edible seaweeds, including their flavours, nutritional information, and how to begin identfying and harvesting your own. Once you've finished examining and foraging the shore, you'll get to join a cookery demonstration and tasting session, showcasing how to cook the wild ingredients you've picked!

This course takes place between 13.30am and 16.30pm at Freathy, Whitsand Bay, suiting the day's tide. We recommend bringing a notepad and/or camera along with you to help record and, later, recall the wild foods your encounter, as well as a container if you'd like to collect your own ingredients. Children under the age of 16 are welcome to join us for free, however, do let us know if any will be in attendance, so that we can keep track of numbers! Unfortuantely, we find that our walks are unsuitable for dogs and ask that they are not brought along with you. Logistics for the foraging course will be sent via email after the booking is made.
