Taste The Hedgerow
Minnadhu, Kingsand
In stock
Spring is an incredibly exciting time for the hedgerow and there is no better time of year to begin exploring the amazing wild food ingredients Cornwall has to offer. Not only does the Minnadhu begin to bloom with colour in March but it also becomes rich with nutritious wild foods and, with the right knowledge and a bit of confidence, your strolls across the countryside can quickly lead to regular bounty.
Come and join our foraging walk in Cornwall, as head forager, Vix Hill-Ryder, share her excitement for springtime, telling of the plantlore associated with various ingredients and sharing the significant roles that have each played throughout British history. Then, at the end of the walk, Vix will host a cooking and tasting session to showcase exactly how these wild ingredients can be incorporated into your own meals easily. You'll be able to eat the foraged foods you've learned about, learn and taste exciting recipes, and build your own confidence to begin collecting and eating your own wild ingredients.
This course begins at 10.30 and concludes at 1.30pm. Please do make a note of any dietary requirements you might have when booking as we like to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the recipes we taste at the end of the session. Adult foraging walk tickets are £25 and we welcome children to attend for free. Please, however, do let us know if any children will be in attendance, so that we can keep track of numbers! Unfortuantely, we find that our walks are unsuitable for dogs and ask that they are not brought along with you. Logistics for the foraging course will be sent via email after the booking is made.
