Beginners Tracking Course

Sat 1st June 2019

Tracking Trails: An Introduction to Animal Tracking. Join us for a guided walk through the fields and woodlands, where our instructor Keith will lead you on an introductory journey exploring the tracks and signs left behind by our native animals.

This wonderful single day event will provide an opportunity to spend time in the outdoors and discovers some new skills.

Many of our native animals are shy or nocturnal, which can often make them difficult to see. However, they will often leave clues behind to identify their presence. This walk through the feilds and woodland will give you the chance to discover these tracks and signs first hand and offer you skills and knowledge in animal tracking. We also spend time in our classroom base.

Keith will guide you as you search for field evidence, such as; tracks, droppings, burrows, nests and feeding remains, as the group travel through the site.

We will introduce you to some of the basic techniques and methods used by professional and experienced animal trackers throughout the UK.

Botanical adventures begin within
our hedgerows…

We are based on the beautiful Rame Peninsula in South East Cornwall. You can choose from hedgerow walks with stunning sea views, coastal walks that finish on the wonderful Cornish shoreline, woodland walks and even discover what's hidden in the wild urban landscapes of our nearest city, just across the water - Plymouth. We range in price from our popular monthly wild food walks (with a cookery class using the wild produce we've collected at the end also included!) for just £25 an adult and children go free. Bespoke private walks can be arranged at any time (and location of your choosing) - and we also offer exciting packages tailored for honeymooners and corporate team building days etc (please see the relevant pages on this site!). We also run courses in traditional countryside crafts - such as bee keeping, willow weaving and working with wild game.
