This Foraging & Feasting - Wild Foods & Medicines looks interesting! https://t.co/bkK8PB0pO3
Do you have a traditional skill, craft, or a hobby to share?
Could you teach your craft or skill as a workshop?
Would you like to earn some money, meet new people and inspire a new generation?
Perhaps you'd like to book onto one of our existing courses - and learn a new skill or craft for yourself?
We are looking for people such as:
Cooks, Artists, Knitters, Weavers, Felters, Potters, Fishermen, Mechanics, Gardeners, Cobblers, Butchers, Musicians, Florists, Dress Makers, Carvers, Storytellers and more!
We would love to hear from you to see if you would like to share some of your knowledge, passion and enthusiasm, skills, crafts, wisdoms and vocations with our wider community. You could turn your skill or craft into a course for The Family Foraging Kitchen. We will pay you for your time and expertise. You'd meet new people, earn money, make new friends and be involved with an exciting social enterprise.
We live in a world where the future of our children could look very different from today. A throw away consumer culture, unsustainable food production, pollution and ever increasing levels of social deprivation and food poverty. We believe that the skills of our elders should be valued and taught in communities for not only our children and young people - but for the benefit of all.
Your skills or craft could inspire younger generations to lead a more sustainable, self-sufficient and meaningful lifestyle. It could lead someone into a craft, trade or useful life skill and hobby.
It could work to reignite a cultural set of traditional values, such as ‘Make Do and Mend’ and ‘Grow your Own’.
Our Grandparents Secret's is a project where your knowledge and wisdom will be valued and passed along.
Although not only grandparents...
We are based on the beautiful Rame Peninsula in South East Cornwall. You can choose from hedgerow walks with stunning sea views, coastal walks that finish on the wonderful Cornish shoreline, woodland walks and even discover what's hidden in the wild urban landscapes of our nearest city, just across the water - Plymouth. We range in price from our popular monthly wild food walks (with a cookery class using the wild produce we've collected at the end also included!) for just £25 an adult and children go free. Bespoke private walks can be arranged at any time (and location of your choosing) - and we also offer exciting packages tailored for honeymooners and corporate team building days etc (please see the relevant pages on this site!). We also run courses in traditional countryside crafts - such as bee keeping, willow weaving and working with wild game.
